Cancellation Policy
This Cancellation Policy explains how recurring memberships may be canceled, how wardrobe returns are handled during the final billing period, and what happens if items remain in Starmoire's possession after membership termination. This Cancellation Policy is incorporated into and forms part of Starmoire's Service Terms of Service.
1. Canceling a Membership
Members may cancel their membership at any time through the cancellation methods made available by Starmoire.
Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated at signup, membership continues through one final billing period after cancellation: the member retains access for the remainder of the current billing period, is charged one final membership fee at the next regularly scheduled billing date, and membership ends at the conclusion of that final billing period. The membership end date is fixed, is based on the member's billing cycle, and will be displayed or otherwise communicated at the time of cancellation. Except where required by law, Starmoire does not prorate membership charges; every charge covers a full billing period.
2. Required Wardrobe Return Scheduling
Because Starmoire stores physical inventory on behalf of members, scheduling a wardrobe return is a required step in the cancellation process for members with items stored or listed, unless Starmoire expressly agrees to another return arrangement. Before cancellation is completed, members may be required to select a wardrobe return date occurring within the final billing period, subject to available scheduling windows and operational constraints.
Members may reschedule their wardrobe return to another available date within the final billing period. While a cancellation is pending, a scheduled wardrobe return may not be canceled outright unless Starmoire agrees otherwise or the member resumes the membership.
For premium, concierge, or VIP membership types that Starmoire designates as non-self-service, Starmoire may require direct coordination with its operations team to complete cancellation and wardrobe-return scheduling.
3. Final Billing Period and Wind-Down Services
During the final billing period, members continue receiving the membership benefits that Starmoire makes available for that plan during wind-down. Unless Starmoire states otherwise, those benefits may include continued access to the digital closet, retrievals until the scheduled wardrobe return, and continued sale of eligible listed items through The Shed until the applicable listing cutoff.
During the final billing period, members may be restricted from scheduling new wardrobe pickups or from taking other actions that are inconsistent with an orderly wind-down and return process.
Starmoire may establish operational cutoff dates for resale listings, retrieval requests, or return coordination in order to complete the wardrobe return before or shortly after the membership end date.
4. Wardrobe Return Process
Starmoire may remove unsold items from The Shed a reasonable number of days before the membership end date in order to coordinate the final return.
On or before the scheduled return date, Starmoire will use commercially reasonable efforts to return the member's remaining wardrobe in one or more coordinated deliveries, subject to access, logistics, item volume, and other reasonable operational considerations.
If some items cannot reasonably be included in the initial scheduled return because of ongoing resale activity, packaging timing, buyer claims, or related operational issues, Starmoire may coordinate a final follow-up return.
5. Membership Termination
Membership terminates on the membership end date previously disclosed to the member, even if the wardrobe return has not yet been successfully completed.
Starmoire may send reminder communications before the membership end date summarizing the scheduled return, the end date, and any items that remain listed for sale or pending return.
If Starmoire is unable to complete the wardrobe return before the membership end date due to Starmoire's own operational reasons, membership will still terminate as scheduled and no additional membership fees will be charged for the delay period, unless the member affirmatively elects to continue or restart the membership.
If Starmoire is unable to complete the wardrobe return because the member does not schedule, repeatedly reschedules without completion, fails to provide access, refuses delivery, is unavailable, or otherwise prevents return, Starmoire may treat the items as subject to holdover or unreturned-wardrobe procedures as described below, to the extent permitted by law.
6. Holdover or Unreturned Wardrobe
If a member's wardrobe remains in Starmoire's possession after membership termination because the member has not cooperated with return scheduling or completion, Starmoire may continue to hold the items and may assess reasonable holdover, storage, handling, delivery, administrative, or related charges if those charges have been disclosed to the member or are otherwise permitted by law.
As a pilot-stage operational framework, Starmoire may apply a short post-termination grace period before holdover charges begin. After that grace period, Starmoire may continue sending notices and requests for coordination using the contact information associated with the member's account.
If items remain unreturned after notice and the applicable grace or cure period, Starmoire may continue to store the items, arrange return delivery at the member's expense, assert any lien or similar right available under applicable law, and take any other action permitted by Starmoire's Service Terms of Service and applicable law.
Any donation, sale, disposal, transfer, or other disposition of unreturned items will occur only if and to the extent permitted by applicable law and after any required notice and process have been satisfied.
7. Failed Return Attempts and Repeated Rescheduling
If a wardrobe return cannot be completed because a member is unavailable, refuses delivery, provides inaccurate access information, repeatedly reschedules, or otherwise prevents completion, Starmoire may reschedule the return and may charge a reasonable additional fee if that fee has been disclosed to the member or is otherwise permitted by law.
Starmoire may also limit further rescheduling, require direct coordination with operations personnel, or require return by a specific available method where reasonably necessary to complete the return process.
8. Relationship to Service Terms and Applicable Law
This Cancellation Policy supplements the Starmoire Service Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this Cancellation Policy and the Service Terms of Service, the more specific cancellation or wardrobe-return provision will control with respect to cancellation procedures, except where prohibited by law.
Nothing in this Cancellation Policy limits any rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable law.
